About
About Art To Empower
Our Story
Art To Empower began in 2019 when Monica and Aaron Ellison started bringing movement and music experiences directly to young children in Chattanooga preschools. What began as a small mobile program has grown into a nonprofit organization that partners with early-learning centers, schools, community organizations, artists, and families.
Today, Art To Empower creates opportunities for children, youth, and adults to experience the arts through ongoing classes, cultural programs, camps, performances, and community partnerships.
Our approach
Our Work
Our work is currently centered around two primary programs. Move N Groove Kidz introduces young children to creative dance, acrobatics, and music. Capoeira Chattanooga offers Afro-Brazilian movement, music, martial arts, and cultural learning for youth and adults.
As Art To Empower grows, we remain open to new art forms, artists, and partnerships that help expand access to meaningful arts experiences.
Who We Are
Art To Empower is a Black-founded and led organization rooted in culture, community, and inclusion. We believe the arts should be part of everyday life and that people of all ages and backgrounds deserve opportunities to create, learn, participate, and belong.
